Andrea Barnes-Clarke
Vice President
Ms. Andrea Barnes-Clarke is right at home serving as vice president for the African Descent Lutheran Association – Los Angeles Chapter in her first term.
Raised in the Lutheran Church since age 5, she was baptized, confirmed and served as both junior and senior Luther League president. This all occurred at her only church of membership to date, Olivet Lutheran Church in Hawthorne. She also attended Trinity Lutheran Elementary and Middle School in Hawthorne and Lutheran High, in Burbank.
Ms. Barnes has served in several capacities at her church; committee work, a member of the senior choir and as church treasurer.
Ms. Barnes works in public service as the Division Chief of Contracts & Procurement for the County of Los Angeles’ Department of Child Support Services. She is both a member of the department’s Equitable Policy Workgroup and the county’s Anti-Racism, Diversion, and Inclusion Initiative Strategic Planning Taskforce. As a civil servant one of Ms. Barnes’ most satisfying efforts is mentoring those coming behind her in the department.
When not collaborating with professional or community colleagues, Ms. Barnes enjoys a number of passions including world travel, anything ocean related and fine dining. She is divorced, the mother of Stanford graduate, Briana H. Clarke, author of ‘Physics 4 All’ and high school physics teacher.
